I’m a Scientist Get me Out of Here!

Recently, one class in Year 7 were involved in I’m a Scientist get me out of here!. This was an online event where students got to meet and interact with real scientists. It was in the form of an X-Factor style competition between the scientists. Students submitted questions which the scientists tried to answer during a ‘live chat’ session. Students had to vote for the engineer they thought should win a prize of £500 to promote their work. Brayton High School students worked within the ‘High Pressure Zone’ and thoroughly enjoyed the experience particularly when chatting to the engineers.

Student comments included:

‘I really enjoyed the ‘I’m a Scientist get me out of here’ challenge. It explained more about science and the scientists made it fun.’

‘‘I though taking part was a great experience. Opportunities like this don’t occur every day for you to talk to real life scientists.’

The school prize for the best question asked went to Sophie Robinson (7LJO) which was ‘If you could solve one thing in the world with science what would it be and why?’
